on tea.

in addition from its many health benefits, tea is wonderful.

green is my preferred tea, however i have a cupboard full of varying types. jasmine, black, zen, chamomille, british breakfast...to name a few. my choice of tea depends on my mood. most often, as i mentioned before, it falls on green. it's perfect.

usually i make hot tea. it is soothing. and it is easier to savor every sip. sometimes (rarely) i crave iced tea. only sometimes.

i know that some of the readers (alicia, kyle, whitney) have been to various asian countries. i ask you now, how was the tea? did you try it? please share!

if you are not a fan of tea i urge you to give it another try. maybe you had it when you were younger, and it wasn't quite the right time. perhaps you have only tried herbal and you are actually more of a flowery type. if you did not like cold try it hot, or vice versa. (i am not really a fan of the phrase "vice versa"...i just realized that.) i have quite a collection. come on over, and have a cup with me!

My obsession for tea leans towards chai tea. I don't think I could live without it. Really.

my tea kettle is warming on the stove as i type this! i love earl grey and chai and chamomile and peppermint and english breakfast and mostly everything else, too.

last summer we went to a tea plantation (http://www.boh.com.my/) in malaysia. it was absolutely beautiful (even more so than it appears in the photos on their website). i brought a box of tea bags home with me; every time i had a cup i remembered the cameron highlands and i was happy.

(sorry for the longness. i also feel strongly about tea.)

don't care what it is, but reserve one for me.

and whitney: don't know necessarily who you are, but earl grey is indeed an excellent tea, and i'm enjoying a cup right now!

The native tea here is awful. Buckwheat or something.

yes, they mix the green tea with barley here and it really ruins the green tea flavor... but, they do have other weird flavors that i haven't quite figured out the names for yet...
kyles like the traditional tea here that is made with cinnamon, other sweet spices and chopped peanuts... yeah, that's right... peanuts.
