historic.

this is one of my favorite book stores. it is an old theater turned barnes & noble. when i was younger my family ALWAYS made a bookstop stop as we drove through houston. mom would let us each buy a book. i attribute my love for reading largely to this store. how amazing is it that i live within walking distance now?

interior pic to follow.

family ties.

today i conducted an experiment to prove just how funny my family really is. unbeknownst to my them, i simultaneously sent them each the following text: "Today is 'National Cheeseball Day'! Just thought you may like to know. Love you!" just as I suspected I was met with varying responses each warranting a genuine LOL. the results are as follows:

dad: "Mmmmmmm. Thanks for the info lol. Dad"
sweetly demonstrates feigned interest in the daily happenings of his one and only daughter. complete with the usual signature of "lol. dad" no matter what the tone of the text...it will, inevitably end with an "lol" and a "dad".

mom: "I worship cheeseballs"
typically outlandish & over-the-top response. i feel as though i should mentioned that she followed this text with another, "I work w/2 cheeseballs" mom can extract excitement from pretty much anything, even a cheeseball...as illustrated.

reid: "Eww"
the writer of the family is ironically (or perhaps fittingly...) a man of few words. reid is able to convey EXACTLY how he feels about the aforementioned cheeseball, and wastes no time with flowery prose to make his feelings known. now, had i mentioned something about a passion of his, say, italian churches....we would have another animal on our hands. a work of art, surely deserving of locking on my phone.

marc: "It ain't easy bein cheesy, baby!"
the usual urban-flo style of text from the youngest of the bunch. a rapper at heart, marc will find a way to "rap" his response to most questions/general comments. i am convinced that marc lives his life as best he can being a white man 'throwed in the game'.

these are my friends. this is who they have been for always.
my family is my favorite.

cheesily,
camille.
